Fall has always been my favorite time of year. It’s such a great time of transition from the hot and sometimes stagnant summer to the chilly and quiet snow-filled days of winter. The brisk air and fallen leaves remind me that even though things are changing, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. This is the time to leave old things behind. Get rid of old thoughts, ideas and people who are no longer serving you and get ready for whatever the Universe has in store for you next. Although curling up in leggings, sweatshirts and scarves with a hot cup of tea is a far cry from lounging in a swimsuit with a frosty drink while your skin soaks up the sun, it’s not bad-different. It’s just different. It’s a change. It’s moving forward in a way the Universe wants, knowing full well it has something equally (or perhaps more) amazing in store for you. It’s having faith that the next phase will be amazing.
It seems like a lot of people (including me) are having kind of a hard time right now. Some people are having emotional ups and downs, others are experiencing less than ideal health and still others are watching relationships fall apart, change or morph into something new. If, instead of getting lost inside of these difficult or challenging times right now, we can view our lives in terms seasons, it may be easier to look forward to where we are going.
If you’re going through some tough times right now, you’re not alone. Everything might feel a little more over the top and dramatic when it really doesn’t have to be. It’s just a transition time and your body is telling you to let go of what you had to get you prepared for what is coming. Personally, I’m very excited to see what’s coming up. I’ve done so much work on myself, purging my life of bad relationships and unhealthy habits, that I’m now ready to see what’s in store for me. Getting to the point I’m at right now wasn’t easy, nor was it fun, but looking back, I can see how beneficial it was. If you haven’t made changes in your life yet, now is the time to do it! Prepare for the next phase of your life just like you’d prepare for winter. Store the stuff you no longer need (both mentally and physically) to make room for the things you do. This mentality will always bring more happiness, peace and fun into your life. So bundle up and enjoy the ride!
What’s making me smile right now:
